Reading in 1st grade is the most important component in my classroom. Reading is needed in all subject areas. Studies show that if a child does not learn how to read by 3rd grade, more than likely, he/she will always have a very difficult time learning to read.
I love teaching reading and writing. I try my best to engage and excite every student about reading.
I will update the list of books that the students are reading and love to read so you know what to look for when getting books for your child.
