Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere

We had a great time learning all about pumpkins. The students reviewed how they grow (extended learning from Kindergarten). Then they became scientists making estimations, predictions, and hypotheses.
There were 156 seeds in this pumpkin which brought us to guess that there would probably be approximately 300 seeds
in this pumpkin and close to 1000 seeds

in this one, since they kept doubling in size.

Then, of course, decorating them was the best part! The students had the opportunity of earning $.40 to purchase craft supplies that they wanted to use to decorate their pumpkin with. This is definitely one of my favorite activities to teach money. Enjoy the results!
